The roots of Monforts go back to 1884, when engineer August Monforts founded A. Monforts Maschinenfabrik in Mönchengladbach, Germany. The company initially focused on machinery for the textile industry and quickly gained recognition for its engineering innovation and precision manufacturing. Over time, the Monforts name became closely associated with high-quality industrial equipment and advanced roller technology, building a strong reputation in international industrial markets.
In the 1950s, the brush roller division was separated from the original company, laying the foundation for what later became Monforts Walzentechnik. This specialization allowed the business to focus entirely on the development and production of precision brush rollers for industrial applications, serving sectors such as glass processing, printing, textile machinery, and food processing equipment.
